TAX FILING & Payment Date Extended for 2019

Taxpayers have until July 15, 2020 to file or extend tax returns, in addition to payment deferral.

  • March 18, 2020

    Notice 2020-17 was issued by the Department of Treasury and the IRS. The notice allowed any tax payments for individuals and most businesses an extension to pay federal taxes due on April 15, 2020, until July 15,2020. A C Corporation can delay up to $10,000,000 and individuals can defer up to $1,000,000. Any interest, penalties, or failure to pay additions will be suspended for payments until July 15, 2020. Any unpaid amounts will begin to accrue interest and penalties effective July 16, 2020. Check here

  • March 21, 2020

    Notice 2020-18 was issued by the Department of Treasury and the IRS. The extension to pay taxes without relief to file or extend tax returns by April 15, 2020 was confusing to taxpayers. On March 21, Notice 2020-18 was issued by the Department of Treasury and the IRS. This allows taxpayers until July 15, 2020 to file or extend tax returns, in addition to payment deferral. Check here

  • Individual States

  • March 27, 2020 (CARES) Act

    The Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act was signed into law on Friday, March 27. This is a $2.2 trillion economic rescue and is the largest relief package in U.S. history. Check here
